Monday Blues

Hi Everybody!

Welcome to my Blog.

Don’t let the title of this, my first blog entry, fool you. I don’t have the Monday Blues today at all. In fact, I’m thrilled to be back to work today after a few days off. And no, I wasn’t on vacation. I wish! I came down with bronchitis last week and spent the last few days in bed. No fun at all! I hate being sick. I missed three days of work last week, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, was too sick to even watch the news or read. That never happens.

When you’re not 100% healthy it really puts things in perspective. It makes you so grateful for everything you have because deep down you know you’ll eventually get better, but it makes you wonder about those who can’t get better.

It also forces me to rely on the help of others. For me that’s NOT easy. I’ve always been fiercely independent. Ever since I was a kid. You know the one I’m talking about. The girl who always sat in the front row in class and raised her hand to answer every question. So imagine how hard it is for me to rely solely on others for EVERYTHING? I was too sick to drive myself anywhere, so I relied on my husband to wait on me hand and foot. And he did. Brought me medicine. Toasted my English muffins. Tucked me in. Then listened to me cough all night while I kept him up. Poor Guy!

So for me, there’s no such thing as having the Monday Blues on a day like today.
I’m just so happy and grateful to be here and be healthy!
